FAST Camp Report

FAST was my favorite camp, it taught me a lot about leadership.  When I arrived at Camp Manitou I threw my bag on the bunk and I hung out with my fellow Scouts. We eventually watched the Blind Side one of my favorite football movies.  Then I was off to bed to get a good night sleep so I could enjoy Saturday’s activities.  This always seems to be difficult to get sleep with a large group of us in one area.

I arose Saturday morning with a sore throat, but that wasn’t going to stop me.  Lucas and I were in charge of the flag at Opening ceremonies.  I had done this once before.  We then returned to the lodge for breakfast.  Morning consisted of leadership activities & games.  After that we played telephone and I came to the conclusion Scouts aren’t good at communicating a message around a circle.  Then we had lunch, it was up to the Scouts to prepare their lunch with only a limited amount of ingredients.  This is called the Iron Chef.  Our group turned out to be the winners of the Iron Chef, lunch was awesome.  After we completed the challenge we played Capture the Flag and Manhunt.  We did more leadership activities in the afternoon that included fire building.  We did not get the fire started till the last match.  Dinner was served, best food ever.  Almost fell a sleep during the movie Star Trek, not one of my favorites.  Off to bed again with a large group of Scouts.

I arose Sunday morning and packed up my gear.  Had a great breakfast.  Lucas and I did the flag for closing ceremonies.  Went to a meeting explaining Court of Honour.  Then it was time leave.

All in all it was a great weekend except for my throat hurting, misplacing my water bottle a couple of times.  And drinking way too much peach juice (but I love peach juice).
