Carlisle Scouts Receive Funding From Optimists

Hot on the heels of Burlington Area’s award comes some more good news regarding our combined Troops, and our recognition in the community. Last night, the 1st Carlisle Scouting Group was awarded $2000 by the Carlisle Optimists. Scouter Andrea McRae, Group Commissioner of 1st Carlisle, was on hand to accept the cheque on the Group's behalf. During the presentation, many Cub Scouts, Scouts and Venturer Scouts were also on hand to be featured in an upcoming edition of the Flamborough Review. Instrumental in securing this funding were Scouters Jeff Brown and Brent Fargo, Scout Mitchell White and Cub Scout Cohen Dilda who prepared and delivered the presentation to the Optimists.

The Carlisle group has come a long way in the last 9 years – from a group of only 10 Beaver Scouts virtually unknown in their small community, to a full service Scouting group making headlines for their work in Carlisle. At the East Burlington Scout Groups, were glad to have been able to help reestablish their Troop program, and are glad to have them as part of our team of Troops! Way to go Carlisle!
