15th Burlington All-Section Winter Camp 2011 Review

This weekend I went on the all-sections winter camp. My parents had to go somewhere that first night so I ended up getting to Manitou an hour early. While me and my Dad waited for the others to arrive, I wend sledding.

The first to arrive were Christian and Scouter Mike (Christian’s Dad). We both drove in and met down at Rotary Lodge where we talked for a bit. As we were talking the Campground Director drove in and told us we had to park in the parking lot. I got my equipment out of my car, said bye to my Dad and the three of us walked into the grounds.

When some others got there we went and built a little jump for our sleds. After that we went to set up our tents and mug up.

In the morning we went over to Mac Lodge for breakfast. After that we spent an hour or two sledding and went in for lunch. During that time the Beavers arrived and we went for opening. From there we went on a two or three hour hike around the grounds. During the hike we stopped at the Adirondacks, even the one that was burnt down. There we were told the story of what had happened. Dang Venturers….

When we got back we went sledding with the Beavers at the hill we had made our jump on. Later we had dinner and went to campfire where we sang a few songs and did some skits. The other Scouts and I did the “Eleven” skit. After campfire we joined the Cubs in Rotary Lodge to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. When it was over we went to bed.

The next day we had to get up early to go and make breakfast for the Beavers. We made sausages and pancakes. After breakfast we went to pack our equipment and take down our tents. My Mom arrived in the process of taking down our tent and when everyone went for closing we tried to finish packing it. When they came back we had to leave and that was the end of camp for me.
