At competition camp I arrived Friday night at about 7:00. While making a trip to the trailer for the rest of the gear my walking stick broke. After everything was set up we had mug up. For mug up we had hot chocolate and cookies. Afterwards we went and participated in the glow stick hunt.
On Saturday morning we had scrambled eggs and oatmeal for breakfast. Two patrol members didn’t wake up in time and had no scrambled eggs. Then we had opening and proceeded to the first events of the day. First there was an event where the patrol had to stand on a tarp while it was repeatedly folded under our feet. Next we went to an event were we had to make our way under a rope while spinning a hula-hoop. Then we had to throw beanbags into a box. Along the way we received a bunch of random items that we used to dress up a member of our patrol. Afterwards we ate hot dogs for lunch. Beforehand two people in the patrol ate all the chips. Then we did tug of war. Our patrol won the trophy, which was a wooden fish, painted gold. Then we lugged the equipment into the field and constructed our catapult which was tested using a rubber ball. Soon after we did the leader dinner for which we prepared fried eggplant, sloppy Joes and pineapple puffs.
Later on we had campfire at which each group did a skit. Our group did a skit called 11. At Saturday mug up we had wafers and hot chocolate.
The next morning it started to rain at 4:00 and never stopped. We had oatmeal for breakfast and packed up. The tents got soaked as we packed them up. Getting the shelter down was a challenge. Later we had closing and I left at 12:30 because that’s what the email said except it was actually a half hour earlier at 12:00.
