Outdoor Skills Camp 2008

Dear Scouter,

This past weekend we were at Valens for our camp. Valens was a good place because it had such a large pavillion for our patrol kitchens. This allowed us to each have our own space to move and work in. The equipment was in good shape and worked well. My patrol, the "Gekko-Wings", equipment bin had a few extra things and was missing others. We had at least 4 spatulas and no large ladle or lid for our grey water bin or scissors. Other than that we had all the right things.

Our food this camp was very good. They were easy to cook and tasted good. Our menu lacked some originality and veggies/fruit. It was definately a basic camp menu, but it kept us fueled sufficiently.

The program for this camp seemed to go over well with everybody, The two best programs seemed to be the geocaching for glowsticks and the fire lighting challenge. The hike for the seniors was a lot of fun too. It allowed us to look at different trees and stuff that were out there, and to find some neat anomolies.

I can't wait to go again next year and to attend some more awesome camps.

YiS,

Nicole

Co-Op Camp 2008: Clue - The Mystery

I am going to evaluate on the recent camp Co-Op Clue Mystery 2008. How I helped prepare for this camp is that I helped set up a few tents, and helped out the first years. I cooked Saturday night with my Patrol and I cooked Sloppy Joes with others and everyone prepared the salad.

How the camp turned out for me is that it rained most of the time which made it a bit bad. I found most of the games pretty good but a few I really didn't like. My groups for the activities were amazing. My group was fun and cool.

How we left "leave no trace actions" is we checked the tents for garbage and around the kitchen. This evaluation is towards my Fall and Spring Camper Award.
